About AVI compression
AVI is a legacy Microsoft container often found in older Windows applications and video archives. It can be much larger than a comparable modern video file.
Best for
Modernizing and shrinking older video archives.
Compression tip
Balanced or Strong compression usually provides a meaningful size reduction for large legacy AVI files.
Select a local file. It is processed only on your device.
Set the quality level and optionally reduce the maximum resolution.
Preview the compressed MP4 and compare the output file size.

Supported input formats
MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, and TS are accepted. A container alone does not guarantee compatibility: the video and audio codecs inside the file must also be available in the browser's FFmpeg runtime.
